Nadal continues to extend his stellar claycourt record with the 58th straight win when his opponent Novak Djokovic retired 4-6, 4-6 down in the match. He will face 4th seed IvanLjubicic who is in his first ever Grand Slam semis appearance in 27 tries.
Fellow Belgians Justine Henin-Hardenne and Kim Clijsters will face each other in an all Belgian semifinal. Henin brushed off Germany's Anna-Lena Groenefeld 7-5 6-2 while Clijsters overcame comeback player Hingis 7-6(5) 6-1.
